Man's Beginnings

By Kimberly T. Miller. May 6th, 2005

Homo erectus, or the "Erect man" is speculated to be the one of the earliest Hominids to evolve on this Earth. This species is not all that much different from us modern humans as they stood at about our height and were fully erect. There were, however, many differences in bone structure as well. By studying these differences in bone structure we can learn some of the details of this great species. We can observe things such what they ate, how they walked and other such things. Homo erectus were also thought to be the first users of fire and Acheulean tools on earth. By Studying their tools we can learn a lot about there culture and what kind of society that they lived in as well as the technology that they used.
